How to Add Geofences and Set Alerts in Sitecomm GPS Platform.
Stay informed with real-time alerts by setting up geofences in Sitecomm’s Platform. Follow this guide to configure geofences and receive notifications when your tracked assets enter or exit specific areas.
Step 1: Create a Geofence
- Open the Settings
From the Sitecomm dashboard, go to Settings > Geofences. - Add a New Geofence
Draw your geofence using the map tools:- Polygon Tool: Click multiple points to draw a custom shape.
- Once done right Click mouse to save.
- Name and Save
Enter a name for your geofence (e.g., “Warehouse Zone”), add a description if needed, and click Save. - Assign to Devices
Go to Settings > Devices, select the device you want to monitor, click Connections, and link your geofence.
Step 2: Configure Geofence Alerts
- Create a Notification
Navigate to Settings > Notifications, click + Add Notification, and choose from:- Geofence Enter
- Geofence Exit
- Select Alert Channels
Choose how you’d like to be notified:- Web Notification
- Push Notification (for mobile devices)
- Link to Devices and Geofences
In the notification’s Connections tab, select the devices and geofences it should apply to. - Test the Notification
Use the Test Channels button in the notification settings to verify that alerts are being received.
Tip:
To receive push notifications on your phone, install the Sitecomm Mobile App (available on iOS and Android), sign in, and make sure notifications are enabled in your phone’s settings.
